LET'S FINISH!

I made it to the gym this morning for my workout with my trainer with the rest of the small group. It was leg day, as it’s groaned about each Tuesday. I actually have some strength in my legs, so I usually don’t embarrass myself too badly on Tuesdays. (It’s my arms that seem to be unable to catch up.)

But, it has been one of those weeks with some side effects of some medication I am required to take. I only made it halfway through the workout and knew it was time to quit. Shucks! I didn’t get to finish the assignment that was expected and planned for me.

My son and I were talking about this subject last night. We both have tried many different activities, sports, crafts, musical instruments, and lessons; but there are very few of those that we have each mastered. As his father used to say, “I know a little about a lot of things, but I am not a master at any of them.” That’s us. But learning a little about something is better, in my opinion, than knowing nothing; and, a little workout is better than no workout, according to my trainer.

But God!

He is the MASTER of ALL things! He created all things. He is in control of all things. He has completed all of His plan!

He never quits. He never gives up. He is all-powerful and all-knowing.

“He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.” Ephesians 1:10

“Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.” John 19:30

“Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.” Genesis 2:1-2

Has God called you as His child? Have you believed in Jesus as your Savior and Lord?

You are complete in Him!

“For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority….” Colossians 2:9-10

We may not finish what WE have started, but God has already completed what HE started. His plan is finished and, one day will be complete in His glory. We may make mistakes and commit sins, but He sees us as complete through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus.

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

Has God called you to an assignment?

He will supply all you need to complete His assignment! He has called us all to obedience. He has given each of us a gift to use to strengthen and encourage one another. Let’s take His gifts and use them as He planned.

“Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24

In this season of my life, my motto these past few months has been “slow and steady wins the race.” I manage to work a little at a time for as long as I can on the assignments God has given me. It may only be 30 minutes at the gym. It may be sitting for an hour to write His story. It may be time sitting in my porch swing thanking Him for all He has done for me.

God will help me and you to do these earthly assignments as He continues to complete HIS plan in me—to be perfect, complete, mature, and one day, glorified.

“And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:4

Don’t give up! Let’s finish those assignments God has given us!
